Smart Communication Skills Assessment Process

With three simple steps, we assess where you’re at and create a plan to help you soar even higher!
Stage 1: Audio Conferencing Interaction
Duration: 10 minutes
In this initial stage, our specialist will engage in a one-on-one audio conference with the student, maintaining complete anonymity. Through this interaction, we aim to gauge the student’s verbal communication abilities, including clarity, coherence, and confidence. By focusing solely on the verbal aspect without visual cues, we assess the core fundamentals of communication skills.
Outcome: A preliminary understanding of the student’s proficiency level to inform further coaching strategies.
Stage 2: Email Communication Exercise
Duration: 5 minutes
Following the audio conference, the student will be prompted to compose and send an email to contact@thelearningcurve.com on a given subject within a stipulated time frame. This exercise assesses non-verbal communication skills, including written clarity, conciseness, and professionalism. By evaluating the email content, structure, and tone, we gain insights into the student’s written communication capabilities.
Outcome: Evaluation of non-verbal communication skills to complement the verbal assessment and guide personalized coaching interventions.
Stage 3: Group Discussion Participation
Duration: Variable (depending on group size)
In the final stage, the student will participate in a group discussion facilitated by our specialist. This interactive session provides an opportunity to observe the student’s communication skills in a dynamic group setting. Through active participation, listening, and articulation, we assess the student’s ability to engage collaboratively, convey ideas persuasively, and respond effectively to diverse viewpoints.
Outcome: Recorded insights from the group discussion guide the formulation of a personalized coaching plan tailored to the student’s specific communication strengths and areas for improvement.
